Microbiology - Identification - Why Not?

Occasionally, the organism list will not include a taxon that the user would have considered possible. The Why Not window lets you ask "why" a certain organism isn’t on the list.

The Microbiology Why Not window appears in two instances, if:

• button is activated in the Microbiology Identification Results window.
• Selected reactions for inclusion in the Microbiology Identification Results window do not fit organisms in the database.

The Microbiology Why Not window comprises two window and one button. They are:

• Taxa not listed in Microbiology: Results Lists taxa for which the GIDEON database determined that they do not meet the criteria you specified in making an identification.
• (The taxon) did not appear because you marked: After you highlight a taxon in the above list, this window displays the criteria that eliminated the highlighted taxon from consideration.
• Closes the Microbiology Why Not window.
